# 1171 Clock Movement Series


### 1171 clock movement series

The 1171 clock movement series is the premium flagship by [Hermle Clock](https://www.clockworks.com/clock-movement/hermle-clock-movement.html) Company. This is the largest clock movement out of all the Hermle movements produced. The thick plates make this the heaviest clock movement also. Comparable to the [Kieninger HTU](https://www.clockworks.com/product/new-9-tubular-bell-kieninger-clock-movement) series. The cost is less and has a greater part availability. This is because there is a lot more of these units made, this is a good thing. Because there is more made, parts are more available, and it has less cost.

### Pricing

The price may or may not look as menacing as the movement itself. It is a bargain in disguise however. New clocks with these units always start at $5000 and go as high as the sky really. Now keep in mind this is the best movement style on the market. A price of a new [German tubular bell](https://www.clockworks.com/product/new-1171-890-114cm-clock-movement) clock is very high. The cost of a new clock must be more in the wood case. Because as you can see, the [movement](https://www.clockworks.com/product/new-1171-890-114cm-clock-movement) or [complete kit](https://www.clockworks.com/clock-movement/hermle-clock-movement.html) has a reasonable price in comparison.


### The attraction

This makes it attractive to the wood worker and understandably so. The clock kit is one of the most easy to install. It comes already mounted on the seat board and the tube rack is already attached. So really mounting it in the case, and hanging or clipping everything on it. There is not even a chime block to mount because its just hanging tubes instead.
